Premiering January 14, 2001, Taina tells the story of a sassy 15-year-old caught in between up in the middle of two worlds, her traditional Latino family and the modern world of her school and friends. Taina Morales and her best friends have dreams of becoming successful stars, and they will face issues that teenagers today will be able to relate to and learn from.

When Vidal first read the show script she said she was "born to play the role of Taina." Vidal attended the Performing Arts School in New York which Taina is in. Like Taina, she had to travel on the train from Queens to Manhattan to get to school, and had to deal with being a typical American teenager from a traditional Puerto Rican family.

Vidal always knew that she wanted to be in front of the camera, singing and dancing since she was nine. Vidal began acting by chance when a teacher at her junior high school gave her a flyer for an audition for the film Life With Mikey. She showed the flyer to her older sister who took her to the audition. Eventually Vidal landed the lead role with Michael J. Fox. She has since appeared in many television series and specials, including series- regular roles in Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher (WB); Girls Across the Lake (WB); Commish (ABC); and Beck (CBS), as well as guest-starring roles in Touched by an Angel (CBS); FX (syndicated); Cosby Mystery Series (NBC); and Mickey’s 65th Birthday special (NBC).

Her film credits include lead roles in Life With Mikey (Touchstone Pictures); Brink (Walt Disney Films); and Welcome to the Dollhouse (Sony Pictures). She is also featured in the independent film Details, which recently played at the Latin Film Festival.

When she’s not acting, Vidal enjoys watching movies, especially films starring her acting role models, Julia Roberts, Ashley Judd, Sally Field, Susan Sarandon, Al Pacino and Jack Nicholson. Like an average teenager, she loves hanging out with her friends, bowling, playing pool and painting pottery. She loves to go out dancing and loves to dance salsa.

Vidal grew up in Whitestone, Queens, with her mom Josie, dad Manny, and three older siblings: Lisa, a television actress who has appeared on such series as Third Watch, High Incident, and City Limits; Tanya, a theatrical actress and writer; and Christian, a member of the armed forces. Vidal attended the prestigious Fiorella H. LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, where she studied for three years before moving to Los Angeles for Nick Freno. She currently resides with her parents in Sherman Oaks, California.
