Vicente Fox Takes Office
Articles - News, Politics and Issues
In July of 2000, Vicente Fox Quesada laid claim to transitioning Mexico to a new system of government in just 24 hours. In a single day, people had gone to the polls and returned a vote that demanded the sweeping reforms that PAN candidate Vicente Fox had promised. Last year Latinos mobilized to ask the network executives to account for the absence of Hispanics on prime time television. Instead of playing with the numbers and making excuses, most agreed that the Latino presence on television (especially prime time) is not representative of the actual population of Latinos in the United States. Most networks gave Latinos lip-service by saying they would improve, but little improvement is seen in front of or behind the camera.Add a comment
